Local Scholarships for TMHS Seniors

TISD Local Scholarship Application

Most of the Local Scholarships below use the TISD Local Scholarship Application.  There are four parts to the application, but not all scholarships require all four.  Click on the scholarship links in the Local Scholarships chart below to see what parts are required.

  • Confidential Student Evaluation Forms are basically teacher letters of recommendation.  You may submit the evaluation form OR a letter of recommendation from your teachers.  Need evaluations for multiple scholarships?  Ask your teachers to make several copies for you. It' not necessary to use different teachers for all of your evaluations.
 

Tips:

  • You may apply to as many scholarships for which you are eligible.
  • Make a list of the scholarships you're going to apply for.
  • Make a list of how many transcripts you need and order them from the Registrar's Office at least one week in advance of the due date.  (Official transcripts are $2/Unofficial transcripts $1)
  • Make a list of how many Confidential Student Evaluation Forms/Letters of Recommendation you'll need, and give your teachers at least 2 weeks to complete these for you.
  • Submit your applications before the deadline.

Lakewood Forest Civic Association, Inc. Scholarship

This scholarship is to remember those area students who were injured or killed in a December 1999 bus crash while returning from a Colorado ski trip organized by a local church. All graduating high school seniors who live in the Lakewood Forest subdivision and who are planning to attend any 4-year university or college, any community college or Jr. college, or any technical or trade school are welcome to apply.

The Tomball Educators Association is offering one or more scholarships to seniors of Tomball Memorial High School who plan to major in the field of education.

Houston Polybag

Houston Poly Bag is offering three $4,000 scholarships to students with financial need, a strong academic background, and some evidence of a commitment to improving themselves as well as the lives of others.  Citizenship, school activities, financial need, and activities outside of school will be considered.  Students must plan to attend college full time, taking 12-15 hours each semester. $1,000 (renewable for 4 years)

LSC Board of Trustees

This scholarship is offered ONLY to those students planning to attend Lone Star College, Tomball. The scholarship provides a one-year full tuition and fees (excluding textbooks) scholarship to one male and one female graduating senior.

Tomball Educator Support Staff Association (TESSA)

For graduating seniors: This organization offers scholarships to graduating seniors showing good academic status, leadership, volunteer service, extracurricular activities, and/or financial need. Applicants must also show responsibility, good character, and academic potential. Essay of 250 words on the most influential person in your life during your high school years is REQUIRED. One or two letters of recommendation are not required but encouraged.

Tomball Business and Professional Women's Association

 

This scholarship is offered to SENIOR GIRLS who plan to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree. Four to five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Other criteria for this scholarship include: financial need, a GPA of 75 or better, upstanding character and stability, community service, and leadership.

Tomball Chapter #838 of the Eastern Star

This organization is offering one scholarship for at least $600 to a graduating Tomball or Magnolia ISD senior. Their preference is to award a student who intends to follow a vocation that does not require a 4 year college degree such as, but not limited to, cosmetology, auto mechanics, secretarial school, business school, art school, etc., but any student may apply.

Tomball Scholarship Foundation

 

 

The Tomball Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to Tomball ISD graduates planning to attend any campus within the Lone Star College System. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. Awards will be used to pay for tuition only for two semesters beginning in the fall semester after graduation. Students must maintain a minimum of 12 hours per semester. Students must achieve a minimum 2.0 overall grade point average to maintain scholarship eligibility. *** This scholarship does not pay for books or college fees. ***

The TEACH organization is offering one $600 scholarship to a TMHS senior who plans to attend a two year or four year college after graduation to help fund their post-secondary studies.  Students will be evaluated on their academics, involvement outside of the classroom (extracurricular, volunteer or work), and financial need. No criteria will outweigh the other.

TEACH Michele Harmon Team Scholarship

The TEACH organization is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a TMHS senior who plans to attend a two year or four year college after graduation to help fund their post-secondary studies.  Students will be evaluated on being a good citizen at TMHS and in the community, their academics, as well as  involvement outside of the classroom (extracurricular, volunteer or work).  No criteria will outweigh the other.

Service First - Humanitarian Scholarship

Created to recognize high school students who have made an impact in their community, school, or in their lives. Open to all graduating high school seniors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 who plan to attend an accredited institution of higher learning including college, university junior college, trade or technical school. Two TMHS students will be awarded this scholarship

 

Awards range from $1,000 - $4,000
