Welcome to Health Science Technology!
I am one the Health Science Clinical instructors as well as the CNA instructor here at Tomball Memorial High School. I am also the lead advisor for HOSA, the largest student organization in the nation for Future Health Professionals! I am a registered nurse with 28 years of experience working in the medical field in a variety of roles and settings. I began my career straight out of high school as a medical assistant and later, earned my ADN at Lonestar College in 2001 then my BSN from University of Phoenix in 2010. I've worked in Family Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Med/Surg, Long Term Care, Home Health, and School Nursing.
This is my 14th year working in the best school district in Texas and I'm so excited to be working at Tomball Memorial High School! I began my career in the district at Rosehill Elementary in 2004 in the clinic as the school nurse then transferred to Tomball Elementary in 2007. My clinics were always preceptor sites for the TISD Health Science Clinical rotation students, as well as the Lonestar LVN, TWU BSN and U of H RN-BSN programs. I enjoyed working with the students so much that I decided to bring my years of expertise as a registered nurse to the classroom.
As I enter my 5th year in education, I am so excited and eager to bring my knowledge and real world experiences into the classroom to share with students who have a passion for a career in healthcare.
I will be attending the HOSA Washington Leadership Academy in Washington, DC with our HOSA State Officer the 16th -19th and will be unable to meet you all at Open House on Monday Evening. I am sharing this presentation with you and hope you find it informative. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Email is the best way to reach me and I make every effort to respond by the end of the day or within 24 hours.
We are off to a great start in all of my classes and look forward to working with your student this year!
