About Ms. Thomas (also known as Frau Thomas):
I am entering my 20th year teaching, and 8th year in Tomball ISD. I was born in Illinois, but moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico at the start of high school. My first foreign language I took was Spanish. But when I attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, I knew my major was going to be German, with a Spanish minor. Why? Easy! My mom was born and raised in Germany and my grandparents in Germany said they were too old to learn English. ;)
I am a proud Aggie from New Mexico State University. I have traveled many times to Germany to visit family and friends there. I love it there. I tell my students every year that if I won the lottery, I would take them to Germany. Since I don't think that is going to happen any time soon, I try to bring as much of Germany to them in the classroom as is possible. Foreign languages are my love, but all things German-speaking are my passion.
I am a sports fan- mostly World Cup soccer (Germany) and basketball. I enjoy watching those sports so much that you will typically find me at those games working the books or the clocks/score for TMHS. :-) Friday nights during the Fall are spent at football games and band contests, as this is my fourth year to help out with the Roarin' Blue Band color guard.
This year I will be teaching German 1, 2, 2 PAP, 3 PAP, and 4 AP, as well as Spanish 1. I am looking forward to a great school year with foreign languages!!
